From Mr Knapp (RE teacher):
He was engaging, extremely funny, and his passion for his subject material shone through. I would be likely to recommend his books to younger readers as a result of hearing him speak.
From Mrs Montague (Art teacher):
Entertaining, powerful speaker with strong moral and important life messages to give. The Year 9 that came in after said he was the best speaker who has visited the school.
From Mr Harman (Science teacher):
I was enthralled from the moment Alan began to speak. He immediately and naturally put everyone in the hall at their ease. Here was a world class author talking directly to me, at least that's how I felt.
He is a natural story teller and his exploration of the triggers that made him write his books had me laughing one moment and hiding tears the next. He was refreshingly normal, a bloke on the street, a mate down the pub, friendly and above all very fascinating.
