I just wanted to thank you again for a brilliant day yesterday. The children thoroughly enjoyed your visit and benefited greatly from the workshops. The YR3 children are writing up the beginning parts of their stories today. They will then go on to plan and write the remaining parts next week. I’ve just been into one of the YR3 classes observing their lesson, and the children were so enthused! Tammie Wisnia, Vice Principal, Harris Primary Academy, East Dulwich
"Gwyneth Rees visited our school and the children came away from the workshops motivated, enthusiastic and having positive attitudes towards Literacy. The Nursery loved having a workshop and being included in the days events. Boys and girls from 3 to 11 years old were catered for and every workshop was a success."
Natasha Matthews, Literacy lead and Yr 6 teacher
“We had a lovely visit from Gwyneth in 2015 on her publication tour for “Cherry Blossom Dreams,” when she spoke to both years 5 and 6 in the Junior School and Year 7 of our Secondary School. She was very warm and engaging with the girls. She told them about her early interest in reading and writing and had brought drawings and notebooks from her own childhood to show them how she progressed as a writer, which they found fascinating and could really relate to.
She also shared anecdotes with them about where her ideas came from, and invited a lot of audience participation which got the girls involved with the session, followed by a short reading from the book. At the end she answered all their questions (there were a LOT!) and signed copies of the book, which the girls were by now very keen to read. Two of the older girls also interviewed her for the school newsletter.
We really enjoyed meeting Gwyneth and she was a pleasure to work with. Her visit inspired lots of our budding authors and illustrators to “have a go” at creating their own stories and to dream of one day getting published.” – Jackie Murrell, Librarian at Bromley High
“It was such a delight working with Gwyneth. She is very relaxed and professional with her presentation and has a great interaction with the girls.” - Sheryl Shurville, Chorleywood Bookshop
“Author Gwyneth Rees, visited Brentford School for Girls on Wednesday 08 July 2015 Year 7 students along with local primary schools enjoyed a lively and inspiring session of conversation with Gwyneth. Author talked about her writing and her new book “ Cherry Blossom Dreams!”. She talked about her writing process and gave ideas to future writers. Gwyneth is an interesting and engaging author who is able to relate to younger female audience.”
