"Conrad was a great success at our school.
We had particularly wanted a young male author with whom the young boys could perhaps more easily relate. Conrad ‘nailed it’ with his infectious enthusiasm and engaging style. Years 3 and 4 were totally captivated by the storytelling and imagery!
Conrad read extracts from his first book ‘The Demon’s Watch’, worked with the children to think of as many adjectives as they could to describe a number of given nouns (e.g. goblin), and gently but persuasively led them to understand the active role of their imagination in visualising characters and scenes.
Conrad is expressive and skilled in holding his audience’s attention. The boys were completely taken by his passion for books, for writing and for reading. It was less of a talk and more of a interactive performance!
The children were still buzzing about Conrad the following day. Without doubt he would have left a lasting impression on the boys.
We will definitely be inviting him back!"

Conrad was both an engaging and very entertaining author.
He was excellent with the Year 5s and had an interactive session that the children loved. They didn't want to leave!
We are still getting comments and reservations from the children now, as well as them asking if he is coming back (and luckily for us he is!).

Conrad Mason is an enigmatic and animated speaker, able to capture an audience and hold their attention. He relates naturally to a range of age groups as well as both boys and girls. The children were captivated by his enthusiasm and the ease with which he worked with them. He read extracts of his book and answered questions about how he got into writing and where he gets his ideas from. All the children were completely engaged with the activities going on. We really enjoyed his visit and have already rebooked!
When he visited my school, he was very easy to work with both prior to the visit and during.

It's always a little bit nerve wracking having an author in as you're never sure what you're going to get. However, it's fair to say that the children at both schools were thrilled with the presentations you gave them today. They were engaged by not only your enthusiasm for your own book but your passion for writing in general. You are a testament to the power of writing and children's literature in this technological age and it was so heartening to hear the children talk so energetically about your 'spirit' and 'coolness'.

Conrad came to our school to give an author talk and book signing. He was a pleasure to work with while organising the event and was brilliant on the day too. The children (years 4 and 5) were hanging on his every word and asked loads of questions afterwards. He was entertaining but inspiring too and the children couldn’t wait to get their hands on the books at the end of the session. Highly recommended!
