I can provide assembly/ library talks around my novel a workshop based on a theme from my novel and reading from my novel
Abena Eyeson offers an interactive assembly for Key stage 2 or Year 7, based around her novel Running My Own Race.
The session tells children about the main character, the central themes of the book and includes a quiz as well as a reading. Abena talks about herself and her writing journey. At the end, she does a Q and A with the children.
Abena provides a 60 minute workshop on a theme from her novels. For Running My Own Race, the workshop is based around going for your dreams. She includes a reading in the workshop and, time allowing, does a Q and A. The maximum number for the workshop is 30.
Key stage 2 and year 7.
Up to 30 in a workshop and up to 100 for a talk. (I can be flexible about numbers when doing an assembly.)
Maximum 3 per day.
45-60 minutes for talk; morning or afternoon for workshop, plus time for signing afterwards
Hertfordshire and surrounding areas (ideally not more than two hours travel each way).
Train mainly but can drive. My rate for the car is 55 pence per mile.
