Eileen Browne champions inclusivity, diversity and gender parity in children’s literature. She is the author and illustrator of the three hugely successful Handa books, Handa’s Surprise, Handa’s Hen and Handa’s Noisy Night as well as a host of other titles. Her online events are lively, fun and perfect for 3-7 year olds.
What I can do for you
I can run a Handa’s Surprise event which will focus on all three Handa books. There will be story reading plus music and movement for everyone to join in. Children will see how picture books are printed; what they look like before they’re cut and bound and they’ll find out where Handa lives.
Older children can have Q & A sessions & I also talk to adults about gender inequality in picture books. Questions are welcomed at all these events.
