Highly interactive storytelling events for very young children.
My events bring to life our picture book stories through a combination of drama, live drawing and craft activities. Type of Artist: Author
The events are lively and entertaining, sustaining the attention of even the very littlest readers across a 45 minute session.
The children are invited to join in every couple minutes with actions and sounds and to answer questions about the stories as they unfold on screen.
They are able to see me drawing and help colour in my characters as well as taking part in their own drawing activity - designing a pair of Pirate Hat Pants or colouring in a 5 meter long Scribbly Sausage Dog for example!
My events are not limited to small groups, they easily scale up to 200 in a school hall, festival space etc. I’ve found that a mix of ages between 3-7 within one large group works very well as the youngest children gain confidence from the older ones when joining in with actions, sounds and songs etc

It is a Publicist's dream to work with an author who runs their event with confident panache, creativity and enthusiasm and I have exactly that in Chloe. Her dedication to ensuring that each event is prepared meticulously, from supporting event material such as activity sheets to working up an event that suits the audience perfectly, is second to none and she is a delight to work with. I have seen Chloe perform her ‘Zoe and Beans: Pirates and Pants!’ event in a multitude of venues, from school classrooms to muddy festival fields, and am always so impressed by just how brilliantly she engages the young Zoe and Beans fans.

I’ve never seen such a large group of children so mesmerised and absorbed in a story! It was brilliant. Chloe delivered a fantastic Zoe and Beans workshop for us as part of our 50th Birthday Celebrations at the University of Essex. Chloe had the instant attention of the children as she told her stories and got them taking part in Zoe and Beans’ adventures. The session changed pace seamlessly from settled storytelling to high energy action - the children loved doing all the actions and were totally immersed in the story. The parents loved it too & we received a great deal of positive feedback.Working with Chloe from the planning to the delivery was an absolute pleasure. She is highly efficient and very professional. It was a real privilege to work with her.

Chloe Inkpen visited The Paragon School in Bath last year as part of The Telegraph Bath Children's Literature Festival and it was wonderful. She entertained the Pre-Prep children (100 pupils) for nearly an hour, telling her stories, demonstrating her drawing and interacting in a very entertaining way with everyone. It's quite a challenge to keep children from age three to seven years old engaged for that amount of time, but Chloe managed this beautifully, in a very relaxed manner. The event was very successful from our point of you. The children were inspired by her and keen to read her books. We have been very lucky to have quite a few authors and illustrators visit the school, and Chloe's visit was one of the most successful. We would highly recommend her for school, library and festival visits.
