Chris Connaughton

Author, Storyteller, Actor. Chris also runs Intext Performance, a Theatre-in-Education company through which he delivers performances, literacy workshops and INSET and CPD sessions for teachers.
Hour long storytelling performances or recitals, half day performances and writing workshops, full day performances and writing projects.
These focus on a variety of curriculum areas, including PHSE, History, Victorians, and Speaking and Listening.
They are a great way of raising boys’ achievement in literacy.
Visits can be made up in a variety of ways, with a number of sessions for separate age ranges, depending on your requirements. Do ring if you wish to discuss how you might get the most out of one of Chris Connaughton’s visits.
Chris is happy to recommend a structure for the day, based on 14 years’ experience of working in schools.
He can also advise on how his work can support literacy, studies of the Victorians, PSHE topics, and encouraging boys’ reading.

Preferred age range:Age specific sessions for Foundation Stage, (4 - 5 years) KS1 (5 – 7 years) and KS2 (7 – 8 years)
No of sessions per day:
Up to 4 in one day (2 in morning and 2 in afternoon)

Session Length:
Usually the performances and stories last between 50 – 60 minutes, (slightly shorter for Foundation Stage).
Workshops are designed to last either a half day or a full day depending on your requirements.

Throughout the UK (additional expenses may be incurred for overnight stays outside the South of England and Home Counties).
