Testimonials:

Chris is great in schools. I’ve seen him do a couple of events and he has talked about horror in general and his love of Frankenstein. He always has something interesting to say about the subject and knows loads about it all. He did a great small event to a sixth form class about gothic literature. He delivers a solid and fascinating event about the topics he writes on. He does good workshops as well and is particularly strong with smaller groups.
Ian Lamb, Bloomsbury

I have had the pleasure of hearing Chris Priestley speak at several programmes and the privilege to host him as a speaker myself on three occasions at Hitchin Boys' School. He is as entertaining to listen to as his books are to read and thankfully a lot less scary though he will gladly read from his spooky tales if you desire and if you dare. He appropriately adjusts his presentations to fit his audience - I have asked him to speak to a room of 200 year 7 boys about his writing and I was present for a delightful but small Q&A session attended by 15 other adults. On one of my invitations to speak about his illustration to a group of Sixth Form art students he delivered a marvellously informative and interesting session even though the computer I provided refused to open his pictures - that is pure class and preparedness in this day of dependence on technology! And for the economically focused, I have always been able to sell more Chris Priestley books than any other author I have hosted. Don't forget to visit his blog, too. Great books and a great speaker - go on, invite him, he doesn't bite . . . or does he??

Thomas Pitchford - former librarian of Hitchin Boys' School
