Workshops/ activity sessions
Most workshops are tailored around a particular theme – eg nature, dragons or fairytales. I will start with a short talk about me, what I do and what I have done to date, allowing the children to peek inside a sketchbook or two along the way. I’ll follow this with a step by step “this is how I do it” drawing session with time for a one to one walk around and Q&A
4-10, as primarily a picturebook illustrator but flexible to work with all age ranges.
30ish a workshop but have had more in previous sessions.
Again flexible and depending on length but 3 would be fine.
45-60 sessions are great
I live just outside Newport, South Wales. Originally from N.Ireland and my main publisher is based in Dublin so I am happy to travel to most parts of the country and Ireland dependant on travel expenses etc
A few of my books are Irish themed so may appeal more that side but my latest book is universal.
I have a car, but happy to travel by train – again dependant on travel expenses

Billy Conker’s Nature-spotting adventure - by me
“Conor is a warm, charming and engaging author. His interactions with the children were amongst the best I have seen from a visitor in over 25 years as a headteacher. The encouragement and support he demonstrates are second only to his ability to bring an empty page to life!”

“We have worked with Conor to deliver drawing masterclasses for children and they have been magical. Appealing to all ages he connects with everyone in the room and offers a very hands on session. Generous with his advice and talking them through live drawing of his characters, Conor empowers children to explore their own imagination and have confidence in their creations. The workshops we have delivered have been between 30 - 50 children but Conor has been able to run events back to back.”
Events of Wonder
“Conor Bussutil carried out two events as part of the Dublin Book Festival 2022. He worked with a school group creating an event based on his book Billy Conkers Nature Spotting Adventure. Conor was wonderful with the children, enthusiastic, engaging and created an interactive and fun event for the children. Conor also did a family event and having given him some guidance on what we would like to do, Conor created a scavenger hunt for families and children of all ages at our festival hub in Dublin Castle. The feedback from families was incredibly positive and again, Conor ensured the children were engaged and the event was interactive and fun. Conor was incredibly easy to work with in advance of the event, with excellent communication in advance of the festival and a pleasure to work with. We look forward to welcoming Conor again at the Dublin Book Festival.”
