"Helen's books are beautifully written timeless tales which engage immediately. Her Jasmine Green stories for ages 5 -7 are perfect for young animal lovers, and her novels for older children are authentic and thoughtful but also real page-turners. Her school presentations are brilliant - and she has run several very successful creative workshops at our bookshop. We absolutely love her and her books!"

Helen Peters is a fabulous guest author, who engages and inspires children and young people at both large scale and small group events equally. I have worked with Helen on many occasions in shop, workshop, schools and festival settings and her audiences are always transported to the world of her books and enthralled by her speaking. Her interest in the children’s ideas and her generosity of sharing her own are always a joy.

At Kestle Barton, Helen Peters led six marvellous workshops for all years 4-6 in our local schools. The children enjoyed themselves enormously and the staff reported back that there was some terrific work made following Helen’s sessions. She was able to engage directly with the children in a warm and friendly way and did not require powerpoint which we see as a huge bonus organisationally but also great for the children as it led to some very interesting conversations about the process of writing - ways in which to find inspiration and the value of editing. I highly recommend Helen.

If talking to younger children, I will talk about the Jasmine Green books, focusing particularly on the first book in the series, A PIGLET CALLED TRUFFLE, and the most recent (currently AN OWL CALLED STAR). If talking to older children, I will talk mainly about ANNA AT WAR, my most recent book for upper KS2 and lower KS3, unless a school would prefer me to focus on EVIE’S GHOST or on the two SECRET HEN HOUSE THEATRE books.
