Author talks, workshops, assemblies, prize giving.
I love visiting schools and libraries and meeting young people. My talks are fun, creative and aspirational, and I use films, props and storytelling to bring my books alive.
I aim to make each visit special and to spend as much time as possible talking to children and answering questions.
Before I became an author I was an Advanced Skills English teacher and I have a wide range of experience working with children and young people.

"It was a brilliant day when Jenny visited us during Book Week. Fun, laughter, magic and a big amount of imagination were the perfect ingredients to an incredible author visit. Both the children and the staff were smiling ear to ear throughout the day and everyone was inspired. Jenny even took the time to meet with our Book Club who had just finished reading Land of Roar and answered their questions. From the queue at the book signing after school Jenny have many new fans of her stories! Schools I would highly recommend booking Jenny to visit you and inspire your children too. Thank you Jenny!"

“A fascinating insight into the process of writing a novel… Pupils had a really valuable experience.”
– Diane Midghall, St. Richards Catholic College, Bexhill
“Jenny’s visit to our school was a delight. Jenny fascinated and enthused the students when talking about the process of writing and what happens to the brain when you read. She has become somewhat of a celebrity figure in our school and the prospect of completing a workshop with Jenny has inspired students to become writers themselves.”
– Kevin Hatchard, Heathfield Community College
"Jenny participated in the Bookchat Roadshow in July 2017. As part of an author panel she shared inspirational ideas and thoughts on reading for pleasure with an audience of parents and carers in order to help them support their children's reading habits. Jenny’s passion was infectious! She then delivered a workshop on her brilliant book Stargazing for Beginners to a captivated audience of Year 6 pupils, who were thoroughly engaged and entertained. I am so pleased she was able to be a part of the Roadshow and help make the event a resounding success!"
- Victoria Dilly – Bookchat Roadshow
"Jenny's session at our creative writing festival was perfectly pitched. Her reading was an entertainment in itself and in no time at all, she had all the boys laughing and writing. She always combines her teaching skills with her author experience to provide quality input and gets a great reaction from students of all ages. Thank you Jenny!"
- Jane Branson – Writing Festival, Heathfield Community College
"Jenny has been to our school many times now and every visit has been a great success! The students always respond really well to her warmth and enthusiasm and thoroughly enjoy the excellent creative writing workshops that she delivers. We are very much looking forward to having her back for World Book Day this year."
