Type of Artist:
I talk about the process of becoming a writer and the discovery of the 1,000 year old brooch that inspired my first book, but tend to focus on creative writing workshops.
My books so far have been in the 12+ age range, but I am happy to run workshops for adults and children as young as 6
Ideally one class at a time for creative writing, but have spoken at assemblies with hundreds of children present.
Ideally 3, one in the morning and two in the afternoon, but I have been known to lead workshops all day, simply moving from class to class with a break for lunch.
Usually about 1 hour, with a short talk and a workshop, but I can be flexible, and am able to tailor this to fit school timetables where necessary
I live in Ludlow but am happy to travel throughout the UK where travel expenses/overnight expenses are met
Either car or train – depending on location of event.

Hidden Among Us
This title is targeted more at girls, whereas my previous titles also appeal to boys, particularly Bloodline and Bloodline Rising.
I am happy to talk about any of my books.
“Katy’s visit was a really valuable experience for our pupils right through from Yr 5 to Yr 12. Assemblies and Q&A sessions were engaging for the larger groups, but what we were especially delighted with was the workshops she offered for our G&T pupils, who thrived under her professional guidance. An author’s direction of skilled creative writers’ work is something which we as English teachers cannot offer our pupils in the same way, and Katy’s approach allowed pupils’ confidence and skills both to grow. Highly recommended!”
