However I am currently focussing on my YA/Crossover title, THE HYPNOTIST published by Penguin Random House Oct 2016.
“Laurence is a really inspiring storyteller and speaker. He has a deep understanding of social and human rights issues and how to engage young people in thoughtful debate. THE HYPNOTIST is a brilliant story for exploring equality, discrimination and justice and Laurence talks about these issues with passion and sensitivity.”
Nicky Parker, Amnesty International UK
“Laurence is a lively and natural speaker who I know will inspire young people and open their minds. He is a warm and passionate person and I feel very excited about the idea of him promoting THE HYPNOTIST in schools. I know it will provoke really interesting and useful discussion, and I feel sure teachers will hugely appreciate this!”
Annie Eaton, Publisher Penguin Random House
“I have worked with Laurence for more than 20 years. He is excellent at engaging with his audience and has spoken at most of the major literature events, but is equally comfortable with smaller groups or assemblies. Laurence cares deeply about the issues he writes about and knows how to spark a lively debate. He is also good at noticing the quieter people and helping them to find the confidence to voice their own opinions. His enthusiasm and passionate storytelling ensures that even the most reluctant reader feels inspired.”

The Hypnotist was the winner (and overall winner) of the Historical Association Young Quills Award 2017. The book is officially endorsed by Amnesty International.
