Early years, reception and KS1: Loretta offers interactive story readings, drawing demos and art and craft activities Activities can be tailored to a specific topic or time of year.
For KS2 and above Loretta can expand workshops and demonstrations to explore the process of illustrating, writing stories and creating books. Drawing sessions focus on expressions, emotions and body language, and creating unique ‘characters with a twist’. Story-making workshops can be tailored to different age groups or topics – igniting ideas, creating characters, storyboarding, or using language creatively. These sessions encourage students to join in with drama skills too.

Up to 30 for activity based sessions and workshops. 100 for talks and readings.

I am based in York, but am willing to travel anywhere in the UK if travel expenses are covered (and overnight accommodation expenses where necessary) I do not drive, so am reliant on public transport.

"Loretta’s event for us coincided with Halloween and, starting with her reading “A Monster’s Moved In!”, the library was positively buzzing with over 20 children creating their own pop-up monsters and disgusting packed-lunches! Loretta was on hand to engage with the children and encourage every one of them to turn their inspired ideas into creations they could take home."
Geoff James
Manager, Library Services to Children & Young People,Islington Council
“The children were so excited when they heard Loretta was going to be coming in to our school. It was brilliant to have an illustrator visiting us. They enjoyed the assembly very much and her props were fun and engaging. Once Loretta came to our classroom, the girls were instantly focused and couldn’t wait to start making their own Monsters in the Den! Loretta’s template and powerpoint was easy to follow and the children coloured, cut out, and glued some fantastic monsters! Loretta truly inspired the class and we would love to have her back again in the future.”
Mrs Christodoulou, Year 2 class teacher, Palmers Green High School
“The girls at Alice Nursery really enjoyed listening to Loretta reading them the Little Red Riding Hood story she'd illustrated. They liked the clear, brightly coloured pictures and were very relieved when the wolf was frightened away! The nursery girls found Loretta a fun and lively guest; they particularly enjoyed it when she had a go at drawing on the interactive white board with them.”
Sarah Harney, Head of Alice Nursery
“Wow! What can I say?
The illustrations shown were just so amazing and of high quality. As well as myself, the children were extremely engaged and inspired.
One of the children expressed how she was particularly stunned by how the emotions were changed on a piece of drawing. Extremely magical!”
Mrs Tahira Ansari, Yeading Junior School Librarian, attending ShoutWest Festival character workshops with Yr 5 and 6 students.
