"Mariesa had an excited audience of children and parents utterly enthralled with her gorgeous books The Tiger On The Train and The Silver Shadow at this year’s Chiswick Book Festival. The hall was packed, with enthusiastic volunteers acting out being an animal on the train; thoroughly enjoying colouring in and creating their own Tiger crown activities; and singing and bouncing along with Mariesa. We all relaxed at the end as Mariesa read her stunning latest story about a shark inspired by treasured family memories. Parents joined in too with all of the activities, with a long signing queue and brilliant feedback from all ticket holders. Thank you so much Mariesa for being a true highlight on our programme."
Jenny Griffiths, Chiswick Book Festival Children’s Co-Ordinator and 2022 Primary School Librarian of the Year.
"Mariesa's event was charming, fun and well-balanced, with a joyful mixture of storytelling, singing, music and dancing. The children (and adults) loved it! The follow up in-school workshop was similarly engaging with a perfect blend of story, conversation topics and age-appropriate activities. Working with Mariesa was an all round lovely experience."
Liz Neville, The Children’s Bookshow
"We had a great time with Mariesa visiting some local schools to showcase The Tiger on the Train. She engaged brilliantly with the children, who loved the storytelling and interactive nature of the event."
