The Skull in the Wood
Published by Chicken House
‘The creative writing workshop Sandra led was fantastic and really fired the imaginations of the gifted and talented students, and challenged their notions of how to write. The props were incredibly inspiring and the students were able to create the beginnings of some very atmospheric ghost stories.’
Carrie Groves, King Edward VI Community College, Totnes
‘This was a fantastic event for our Year 7s. It was great to hear Sandra talk not only about The Skull in the Woods, but also about the writing process itself. The creative writing workshops that followed were highly engaging and our students were keen to work on their stories. Most important of all, it helped build their confidence; they learnt that, rather than arriving fully formed, ideas have to be developed through practice, experimentation and play.
Jon Eaton, Kingsbridge Community College
‘The children loved your visit and were so inspired. So was I. It was wonderful to see their creativity and hear their outpourings. They wrote so well in such a short time.’
Emma Cox, Exeter Cathedral School
