"Sarah Kilbride delivers a wonderful Princess Evie's Ponies event - a really warm, friendly combination of storytelling and craft activities. She encourages the audience to join in and ask lots of questions along the way, so they really feel part of the session. It's a real treat for budding princesses and perfectly pitched for the age group. Sarah is a natural on stage!" Catherine Ward

“Sarah is an excellent speaker and workshop leader. She presented an inspirational workshop on the writer Dylan Thomas to a class of thirty Year Nine pupils. The class are very bright and Sarah was able to inspire them and ignite their enthusiasm for Thomas' work. She speaks beautifully and her expression and enthusiasm meant that the class were truly taken on a journey of discovery. Her manner and her way of responding to the pupils were both exemplary. She is a highly creative individual and I would certainly recommend her to other teachers wishing to book a speaker or writer.”

Sarah Kilbride came to Pencaerau to talk to the children about her books. After taking an assembly for all of Foundation Phase Sarah then worked with Year 2 children, she explained the process of how she writes books – showing the children her notebook with her ideas. During the workshop session the children were encouraged to develop their own ideas for a story using a beginning, middle and Oh No! moment and a happy ending. The children were very inspired to create their own ponies and adventure stories which were made into a class book which the children were very proud of. An excellent experience for all involved.

The workshop was well paced and there were enough activities to keep all pupils occupied and interested. Sarah was inspiring and sensitive to the children’s responses as well as expecting them to give their best effort - a great introduction to the writing of Dylan Thomas with lots of opportunities for different types of writing and discussion.
The pupils really enjoyed Sarah’s assembly – The Story of a Story Book, they were enthralled!
