Sarah has been our resident author for over five years now and both our children and staff adore her books, storytelling and infectious enthusiasm for reading. She always works flexibly with us to develop bespoke plans which meet our needs and achieve the very best from our classes. Sarah has delivered an impressive number of workshops and assemblies across the school from Early Years and Reception through to Key Stage 2 – always in a fun and humorous way and with a genuine ability to inspire children to read, write and believe in their own abilities.
Samantha Gallant, Head Teacher- Kirkheaton Primary School
Sarah introduced her latest book to the children at Netherthong Primary School with an exciting assembly that the whole school could enjoy. She shared with the children what inspires her as an author, and she certainly inspired our school! Her assembly was perfectly pitched and offered children simple and useful tips for getting writing, making the possibility of being an author seem accessible to anyone. Her energy, knowledge and ability to engage with the children was first class and her 'performance' with parrots and masks had us all chuckling (even the staff!) and left us all desperate to read her latest book ' A Head Full of Magic'. She brought the characters to life brilliantly and had us all hooked. She was fantastically flexible with book signings and copies, and I have no doubt that we have a new generation of budding authors now waiting in the wings as a result of her visit. I would highly recommend a visit by Sarah, and we can't wait to have her back for future sessions.
Liz McLoughlin, Deputy Head Teacher – Netherthong Primary School
In Summer 2022, we invited Sarah to speak to sixty Year 7 and 8 students who were taking part in the Royal Borough of Greenwich Key Stage 3 Literature Quiz. Sarah spoke enthusiastically about her new book, ‘A Head Full of Magic’, and what it is like to be a writer. The students absolutely loved Sarah's talk: Sarah was engaging, funny and inspiring. We had a lot of positive feedback from both students and staff after the event and we would love to work with Sarah again in the future.
