For teenagers:
It's not about the burqa.
A one hour session suitable for y10, 11 and 6th formers.
Titled: A British Girl's Aspirations and Ambition.
Sufiya will discuss the challenges she faced as a feminist both in her Muslim community as well as wider British society. She will refer to her previous careers working as a researcher in the Houses of Parliament and in the corporate world of advertising.
This talk ties in with Sufiya's girls rights activism and will include a Q&A segment.
2. Primary schools.
Half day visit includes:
45 minute assembly
1 hour creative writing workshop
Full day includes:
45 minute assembly
2 (1hr) creative writing workshop
30 minute Q&A session with any size or age.
Creative writing options for years 2-6:
1. Let's make this story rhyme
2. Let's plot our own end to the story
3. Let's plan a short story
Talks and Workshops for Secondary and Primary aged students
Primary and secondary up to 6th form
Can deliver a maximum of 4 sessions per day.
Entire session is 45 minutes, plus 10-15 minutes for book signing.
Sufiya lives in London but is willing to travel nationally if expenses are covered.
