Talks for teenagers
An hour’s session includes the following:
1. Slide show and speech to communicate my childhood dream to become a writer, my previous career in the Houses of Parliament and the journey to becoming a full time author.
2. Reading from a chapter.
3. Short discussion points on the book’s issue which is forced marriages in the UK.
4. A dress up session with five volunteers to demonstrate an Asian bride’s henna ceremony.
5. Question and Answer session.
Book signing for pupils.
DetailsPreferred age range:
Teenagers – years 7 to 11
No of sessions per day:
Can deliver a maximum of 4 sessions per day.
Entire session is 45 minutes, plus 10-15 minutes for book signing.
Areas prepared to travel to:
Sufiya lives in London but is willing to travel nationally if expenses are covered.
