Type of Artist:
All! Depending on what the audience is and wants.
I do 'standup zoology' for large audiences or workshops for smaller groups.
I also do events outside, interacting with the location and environment (e.g. work I did with residency on Farms for City Children).
I often lecture to teachers, illustration and creative writing students and other groups.
Any age from Reception through to Secondary
Four is great; sometimes schools want an after school inset for teachers or a session for parents, which I can offer in addition.
For Reception and Year 1, I can offer 30-40 minutes.
For older ones, an hour is best, and fine for a quick workshop but for schools that want to really boost kids writing an hour and a half or two hours (with breaks) is good.
Anywhere providing overnight expenses are paid.
South Wales, Bristol, Bath and Devon and Cornwall are my local patches.
I can always find good reasons to be in London, Manchester or Suffolk/ Norfolk.
My books are published in the US and I have visited schools in the US and also US forces schools and international schools in Africa and Europe.
I use the Google Maps petrol costs but if its London I'll go on the train
